BVI Airways manages safety through proactive and systematic identification of risk. We control and reduce operational and occupational safety risk through our Safety Management System (SMS). The SMS continually monitors our operations to ensure they exceed International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and international safety regulators. In addition a Safety and Operational Risk Review Committee ensures we continue to maintain the highest standards.
Health and safety performance is monitored and reported across a broad range of occupational health and safety indicators. Targets are set on an annual basis to ensure we progress on a journey towards a zero risk environment.
We are focused on three main areas: safety leadership, staff training and risk management. This three-tiered program is designed to drive safety performance changes at all levels of the business.
Our management of security risks and potential threats is underpinned by our Transport Security Program, which is formally reviewed every five years and subject to external and internal audits. We work with government agencies, regulators and airport operators in the Caribbean, United States and the United Kingdom to ensure we comply with all regulations, and produce the securest operations possible.
